Opening Screen

On opening the program you will be presented with a similar screen to the one at left.

The various areas are as follows:

1. Main Screen.This is where the content you navigate to is shown, Whether web page or video.
2. Menu Bar and Feedback Panel. Comments appear here and the Menu Bar, which includes search and various navigation options, appears when the cursor passes over this area.
3. Item List Area. When a Channel is selected from the Channel list (4) all associated items appear here. These could be items in an RSS feed/Vodcast or links on a web page. Buttons to the left (5) and right (6) can change the functions displayed in this area. Moving the mouse over items will show their related description on the right (4). To hold the description Click once on the Item. To remove the description, Click anywhere in the border area. To view the item in the main screen, Double-Click.
4. Channel List Area. When the search box on the Menu Bar is used to select Channels they are listed here. This area also will display Item descriptions. To view items for a Channel, Double-Click the Channel.

5. Export Buttons. For emailing, blogging, uploading and adding to playlists. Also a toggle button for showing a mini web Browser window over areas 3 and 4. More detail below.
6. Action Buttons. For displaying the Visual Item Navigation Panel, Ratings and Comment Panel, scrolling through Channels and a Panic Button for emergency stopping of browser operations. More detail below.
7. Channel Guide and Program Help Buttons. Guide displays a larger format Channel/Item guide suitable for large screen operations and Help brings you to this web page.
8. Restore Related Links Button. This will replace Items related to the main screen if you have been browsing other Channels.
9. Show Home Page Button. Will bring up a new window with the Home web page of the current Main Screen content.
10. Border Area. When in Full Screen View Double-Clicking anywhere in the border (all four sides) will restore normal viewing.
11. Playlist Feedback. While in Playlist mode all related messages are displayed here.

Menu Bar Toggle

When the cursor passes over the Feedback Panel it toggles the Menu Bar into view. If the cursor leaves the Menu Bar area the Feedback Panel reappears.

Menu Bar

1. Search Box. Type keywords here or drop down for predefined categories or your saved categories and custom searches. After entering search terms Click one of the Search Buttons (2) (3) (4). Drop Downs do not require clicking a button.
2. Search Source Titles and Urls. This will match your search terms to Channel keywords and web addresses.
3. Search Source Items. This will go to the actual feed or web page and match the content to your search terms. (This can take some time, depending on the categories selected).
4. Item List Drill Down.In cases where item links are not final content items but lead to other pages, this will enable navigation to the next page and refresh the item list with new items from that page. It will prevent content from being displayed in the Main Screen.
5. Import Items or Playlists. Allows download of items and playlists from other users via the ODee! site.
6. Show/Hide Multi-Screens. Raises or lowers item and channel list which cover 4 mini screens.
7. Search Targets. Indicates whether search will be done on channel sources or using search engine. This choice is controlled by the Engine button (10).
8. Options Window. Shows Window which allows adjustment or hiding of some display items.
9. Full Screen View. Displays main screen in full mode. Can be restored to normalby clicking anywhere around border.
10. Search Targets Button. Toggles between ODee! Channels and Search Engines as search target area.
11. Playlist Window. Shows the window for running and managing playlists.

Search Box (Dropped Down)

Select from predefined categories or your own saved searches. Alternatively when the Search Target is changed to search engines a list of engines will appear here.

Channel List and Item List

1. Item List. Shows either the Items contained in an RSS feed/Vodcast/Video Stream or Links contained on a webpage, dependent on the Channel source. Double-Click to view the Item.
2. Channel List. Obtained by selecting via the Search Box, Each Channel is either an RSS/Vodcast feed, a Video Stream or a webpage feed. Double-Click to view the Items or Links within the Channel.

Item List (with description)

1. Item List. Showing Items in an RSS feed or Links on a Web Page.
2. Item Description. This is displayed when the mouse passes over items in the Item List. It can be frozen (held) by single-clicking the item. The hold can be released by clicking the border area.

Export Buttons

1. Upload. Upload Items or Playlist to ODee! site.
2. Add to Playlist. Add Item(s) to Playlist.
3. Share by Email. Email Item(s) Link(s) to a Friend.
4. Bookmark. Add Item(s) to your Blog, Social Site or Bookmarks.
5. Web Browser. Toggle between Mini Web Browser and Item/Channel Lists.

Action Buttons

1. Visual Navigation Panel. Browse items using images and links from feeds and web pages..
2. Comments and Ratings. Replaces Item List with a box for Comment/Rating, which you can share with others.
3. Scroll Channels Up. Show the previous 10.
4. Scroll Channels Down. Add Item(s) to your Blog, Social Site or Bookmarks.
5. Panic Button. Stops Video and Audio and clears items, in case of problems.

Mini Multi Screens

1. Mute. Mute or Enable sound for this Screen.
2. View. Transfer Channel to Main Screen.
3. Play or Pause.
4. Grab. Transfer Channel from Main Screen.

Use the multi-screens to monitor other Channels while viewing the Main Screen or to see multiple camera views (as in Formula One Racing or other Sports Events Coverage).

Guide and Help

The Guide is a Channel Guide that offers bigger type and is well suited to larger screen media PCs.

Email to a Friend

The email button on the left, above the bookmark button, enables sharing items or playlists with one or multiple contacts.

Comment and Rate

The Comment and Rating box enables personal notes or critiques about Channels or Items. These can be shared with others as a specialist or guru guide, or you can import comments and recommendations from other friends or users. ODee! has commented and rated some Channels but you are encouraged to make and share your own.
